Apologies for going semi-dormant, folks. Have been very busy with the old day job and had shoulder surgery in September. Trying a new slightly more writerly, freeform thing. Or you can just click the links. Thanks for your patience, let’s jam:

Dom Whiting’s Drum and Bass on the Bike has absolutely warmed my heart this year. I have been waiting for 25 years for DnB’s comeback. Are we here?! Featured in this set, this Pink Pantheress tune (choon) sampling Adam F’s circles in an absolute delight.

Because I unapologetically love the concept of genres, and can never stop reading about them or organizing music by them like the hybrid Gen-X / Millenial that I am:
Amapiano (Zulu for "the pianos"[1]) is a style of house music that emerged in South Africa in 2012. Amapiano is a hybrid of deep house, jazz and lounge music characterized by synths, airy pads and wide percussive basslines.[2] It is distinguished by high-pitched piano melodies, Kwaito basslines, low tempo 90s South African house rhythms and percussions from another local subgenre of house known as Bacardi.[3]

For those low-fidelity, just-wanna-be-an-anime-character-studying-in-your-bedroom-with-your-headphones-on-while-the-cat-that-you-might-be-allergic-gets-high-off-of-static-electricity-from-your-laptop-keyboard kind of days, this soundcloud beat tape SAMPLING MERRY CHRISTMAS MR LAWRENCE really bumps.

Ambient Flo is a 24-hour livestreaming website with a very good and cool mission (and product).
Ambient Flo started as a weekly live stream from Auntie Flo’s garden during the 1st lockdown. It has evolved into a 24 hour radio station with three priorities:
Music – an ambient, fourth world and transcendental station curated by Auntie Flo and high calibre guests
Health – to transport us from the pressures of everyday life.
Fair economy – that provides a fairer business model and alternative revenue stream for musicians.
Thanks for reading! Submissions welcome. With an extra dash of gratitude —>
